LDPM APPEALS TO JUDICIAL CHAMBER TO CANCEL CEC CIRCULAR ON FINANCING CANDIDATES FOR ELECTIONS

22 september, 2020

The Liberal Democratic Party (LDPM), on Tuesday, appealed to the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) to get the CEC circular to be abolished. In the party's understanding, it "restricts parties to provide financial support to their presidential candidates," this is said in the LDPM’s statement on social networks.

The document says that on September 21, "The Chamber of Appeals (AP) of Chisinau rejected the request to cancel the CEC circular." The LDPM, not agreeing with this decision, appealed to the SCJ.

LDPM Chairman Vlad Filat has previously spoken on the CEC's formulary as "unconstitutional." A similar request was made to the AP by the Unirea movement, which was also rejected, and the Unirea movement expressed its intention to apply to the SCJ.
