PAS LEADER SANDU SUBMITS CITIZENS’ SIGNATURES TO CEC

23 september, 2020

Party of Action and Solidarity Chairperson Maia Sandu today delivered to the Central Election Commission the citizens’ signatures collected in her support necessary for getting registered as a presidential candidate.

Sandu stated to journalists that her initiative group had raised more than 30 thousand signatures, of which 25 thousand were brought to the Commission, though the law-stipulated minimum of signatures necessary for registering a candidate is 15 thousand.

Sandu stated she is going for the elections “in order to win and create normal living conditions for honest citizens of the country”. Sandu refuted point blank any possibility of using administrative resources by her or her party, and remarked: “People are saying that Igor Dodon is extensively using such resources in his campaigning, and he even makes photographs with children – all for his promotion”.

Maia Sandu complained that CEC Secretary Maxim Lebedinschi, a former Presidential Adviser to Igor Dodon, “is working in the President’s favor and against democratic processes in Moldova”.
