PRESIDENT MAIA SANDU PREPARING FOR HER FIRST FOREIGN VISIT

On Tuesday, January 12, Moldovan President Maia Sandu will pay her first official visit – to Ukraine, on the invitation of the neighbor country’s President Vladimir Zelenskii.

In Kiev city, Maia Sandu will hold meetings also with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal and Speaker of the Supreme Rada [parliament] of Ukraine Dmitro Razumkov.

In the words of the Deputy Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, Igor Jovkva, “We will begin the new year from rebooting of our bilateral relations with Moldova”.

Zelenskii was one of the first foreign leaders to have congratulated Maia Sandu on November 16 on her victory at the November 15 presidential election. He wished Sandu success in work and invited her for an official visit to Ukraine.

Vladimir Zelenskii assured Maia Sandu of his determination to continue close and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
