​EX-PRESIDENT VORONIN IS ALSO READY TO ACT AS CANDIDATE FOR PRIME MINISTER

Ex-President of Moldova Vladimir Voronin, Chairman of the Party of Communists (PCRM), will shortly offer President Maia Sandu to nominate him as a candidate for prime minister for the sake of dissolving the incumbent Parliament.

Voronin said on a local television channel last night: “We must thoroughly analyze if we should further tolerate the current situation and let the country to be ruined, and should be further looking at these thieves who have bought parliamentary mandates for themselves. I am running out of patience. I believe there are no other variants except getting rid of this Parliament and of the Mafia in it”.

Voronin believes that President Sandu ought to declare a state of emergency in the country, even though this is the Parliament’s prerogative.

“She should really do this because this Parliament will never agree to step down voluntarily. Maia Sandu must issue two presidential decrees – on appointing a new Government and on appointing a snap election date. In the current extraordinary situation, measures taken must be extraordinary as well. Sandu must sign such two Decrees and she will see what support citizens will give her”, said Vladimir Voronin.
