USA SUPPLIES MILITARY EQUIPMENT WORTH US$5 MILLION TO MOLDOVA

The United States has provided military equipment worth US$5 million to the National Army of Moldova. The consignment was delivered to Chisinau on board a U.S. Air Force cargo aircraft on Sunday.

The equipment was supplied according to the Plan of the army development and reform in accordance with the National Defense Strategy and the Defense Capacity Building Initiative (DCBI).

Moldovan Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatii said that these actions are aimed to continue the systemic reforms started by the Ministry in 2018 to reform and modernize the defense and security sector within the framework of the Government’s efforts to develop the military capacities and build up the armed forces’ operative potential.

The entire projected amount of the U.S. military equipment will be delivered to Moldova in several consignments before the end of the current year, and will be distributed among military subdivisions. The equipment is intended for increasing the capacity and operative compatibility for the Moldovan military’s participation in international peacekeeping operations.
