CHISINAU LADY SENTENCED FOR 9 YEARS FOR STEALING 480K LEI FROM NAIVE COMPATRIOTS

A 34-year-old Chisinau lady resident tricked 12 people into giving her a total of 480,000 lei. She used to promise them help in obtaining documents for going to other countries. With cash in hand, she used to disappear. According to the Prosecution service, in 2007-2009 the woman promised her victims to prepare 16 Romanian and Russian passports – urgently. Besides that, she was accused of extorting 1450 euros from a student for influencing the student’s teachers to let pass final exams. Now the woman will spend next 9 years in prison.
