MOLDOVA NATIONALS TO BEGIN TRAVELING TO TURKEY FROM JUNE 1

06 may, 2014

Starting from this upcoming June 1, Moldova citizens will begin traveling to Turkey without entry visas thanks to the completion by Turkey of its domestic procedures of putting into force a corresponding Inter-Governmental Agreement on reciprocal cancellation of visas.

The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration told Infotag that all necessary procedures have been accomplished also on the Inter-Governmental Agreement on the readmission of the persons staying illegally in the two countries concerned. Both Agreements were signed in Ankara on November 1, 2012.

Starting from the next month, the nationals of Moldova and Turkey will thus be spared of obtaining visas for entry, exist, transit or temporary staying in the other state for a period of maximum 90 days during 6 months from the date of the first entry.

For staying in Turkey for more than 90 days, Moldova nationals will have to obtain a long-term entry visa.

Infotag’s dossier: Until a month ago, Moldova citizens used to pay 20 euros for a visa to Turkey. However, on April 11 the price went up to 30 euros.
