​CHISINAU’S TEMPLE DAY TO BE CELEBRATED OUTSIDE MAIN SQUARE

Chisinau authorities will conduct the city’s Temple Day on October 14 outside the Moldova’s central square, where the tent township of DA protesters has been installed.

During Monday’s Primaria [city government] meeting, Head of the Culture Department Lucia Culev said that the stage for the concert will be installed in Diordita pedestrian street.

Moldovan capital city’s Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said that “by means of conducting of events on the occasion of Chisinau Temple Day, he will demonstrate to everyone who tries to spoil the celebration that they are mindless and their actions are like a slap in the face of Chisinau people”.

He warned city sector administrations and the city Culture Department to be attentive as provocations may occur on the eve of the celebration.

Also, the Mayor said that the city government decided not to hang out flags of Moldova, Chisinau and the European Union, as it has usually been done annually at the occasion of holidays.

“Let it be a kind of act of protest, while the money provided for flags’ hanging out will go to other purposes”, Mayor Chirtoaca said.
