MORE THAN 89% POPULATION ARE DISPLEASED WITH SITUATION IN MOLDOVA – POLL

More than 89% of Moldovan population are discontent with the situation in the country; 56% of which are absolutely discontent, while 33% - partially displeased. These are the results of an opinion poll, conducted by the Public Opinion Fund (FOM) at the order of the Timpul newspaper.

FOM Director Andrei Luchian said at the Thursday’s presentation of the poll results that only 9% people are satisfied with the situation in the country and only 1% is completely satisfied.

In comparison to the last-year poll results, the number of completely dissatisfied citizens fell by 16%, while the amount of those partially discontented – grew by 12%. The share of relatively content people grew by 4%, while of those completely satisfied with living conditions – did not change over the last year.

Luchian said that these results are brought into correlation with answers to other questions. Thus, 48% respondents are content with president’s work; 23% - with Government’s activities; 19% – with Parliament’s work. However, 46% people disagree with President’s actions, 72% dislike Government’s actions, while 75% – Parliament’s actions.

The opinion poll was carried out among 1,817 residents of 111 various-level populated areas across Moldova (except Transnistria) on March 10 through 19. The pollsters are saying that error should not exceed ±2.3%.
