​PROSECUTION OFFICE LAUNCHES PROCEEDINGS INTO RUNNING-DOWN OF GERMAN OFFICIAL BY CAR IN CHISINAU

The Chisinau Municipal Prosecution Office has started a criminal litigation into the traffic accident that happened to a German citizen – a member of an official delegation that had come to Moldova for negotiations. Last Monday, a Moldovan woman driving a splendid Jaguar car decided to make a U-turn in very quiet Nicolae Iorga Street in downtown Chisinau, but forgot to glance into her rear mirror. Her car started moving back and onto the sidewalk, where the unsuspecting foreigner was standing with his back to the vehicle. The 52-year-old official from the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy had his leg broken. If the court pleads the Chisinau lady guilty, she may be jailed for up to 3 years.
