28 july, 2017

The implementation of the project for regional development provided the township of Costesti in Riscani raion with a modern wastewater treatment plant with the support of the German Government.

According to the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord), the plant is able to treat 150 cubic meters of wastewater per day in a normal regime and up to 300 cubic meters at maximum load.

Representative of the German Embassy to Moldova Ulrich Kleppmann said at the Thursday's ceremony of plant commissioning that the project is very important for improving living conditions and health of region's residents.

"Germany and the EU will continue providing assistance to Moldova within the program of modernizing public services. The financial assistance for future projects will account for 80 million euros", he said.

According to the Program Head Alexander Muravschi, assistance of European partners is quite well-timed, but there will be no success without local authorities' desire and efforts.

"The project implementation confirms efficient cooperation between the national expert society, representatives of the ministry, local authorities and foreign specialists", he maintains.

The budget of the project on building water accounted for 14.5 million lei (US$800 thousand), which were provided by the German Embassy.
