POLICE DETAINS BOARDING SCHOOL DIRECTOR FOR SELLING A CHILD INTO SEXUAL SLAVERY

Director of a Chisinau boarding gymnasium, who sold a 14-year-old boy – his student for providing sexual services, was detained by police, said representative of the Moldovan Center for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings Lilian Levandovschi.

The investigation of the flagrant case was conducted by law enforcement during almost five months. Employees of Prosecutors’ Office for Combating Organized Crime, the Information and Security Service and the “La strada” NGO also participated in the investigation.

“It was established that the 40-year-old Chisinau entrepreneur agreed with the pedagogue for using the teenager with certain purpose. Both the boy and the school director were receiving gifts, were provided various services. The businessman was walking with the teenager in city parks, taking him to amusement parks. As a result, an apartment was rented in Chisinau and the schoolboy, who is under the tutelage of the state, was resettled in it”, the policeman said, stressing that during the investigation law enforcers faced considerable difficulties in evidence collecting.

According to Levandovschi, it may be definitely said that teachers were applying tortures and violence against boarding school pupils allegedly for poor results and bad behavior.

“Currently, we are studying the entire document base in this connection, as well as hearing schoolchildren. We also are checking the facts of children departures abroad, the extent of their legality”, the official said, addressing to parents of schoolchildren and to everyone who has information about violation of their rights to immediately report about this to the ministry of the Interior.

Levandovschi said that the director, detained for 30 days, is 45, 20 year of which he was engaged in teaching children. The entrepreneur – amateur of boys – was also arrested.
