FRANCE TO HELP MOLDOVAN GASTARBEITERS TO REINTEGRATE IN SOCIETY AFTER RETURNING HOME

Moldovan citizens, who worked in France, may rely on material and financial assistance upon returning home for reintegration in the society.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, this is implied in the frame agreement on applying the program of assistance for integration, concluded by the ministry and the French Office of Immigration and Integration (OFII) in Chisinau on Monday.

According to the document, upon returning from France, Moldovan citizens will get assistance, including financial aid, within 6 months for social integration. Besides, they may rely on equivalent assistance for employment or starting their own business.

According to the sides, the implementation of the program will positively affect the Moldovan labor market, migration processes and will contribute to improvement of economic and social life of the Moldovan society.

Deputy Minister Anastasia Oceretnii thanked France for taking care of Moldovan citizens, expressing hope that the program will stimulate the returning of Moldovan compatriots to Moldova and will become an example for using in other countries.

OFII Director Didier Leschi said that this agreement is profitable for France, as it is supporting Moldovan citizens, who contributed to his country’s development and is helping to strengthen Moldova-France relations by means of new project in their motherland.

The Agreement meets the 2016-2018 Government Action Program for reintegrating compatriots, who return from abroad. In the field of labor migration, Moldova signed six bilateral agreements, including with the Russian Federation (1993), Ukraine (1993), Belarus (1994), Azerbaijan (2005), Italy (2011) and Israel (2012).
