TELEVISION REMAINS THE MAIN SOURCE OF INFORMATION FOR MOST OF MOLDOVANS

Almost 80% of Moldovan citizens get new information from television, as per the findings of the opinion poll carried out recently by the CBS-AXA Center for Sociological Researches and Marketing by request of the Institute of Public Policies (IPP).

50% of respondents prefer internet for getting news, around 25% are listening to radio, while less than 20% of people find out about events from friends and acquaintances.

Television also has the highest level of trust (45.9%), then the internet comes (23.6%), family (4.7%) and radio (4.6%).

Around 62.1% respondents said that they watch and listen to local programs, 39.1% - Russian programs, 22.1% - read informational portals in internet, 16.6% - read news in social networks, 14% watch and listen to Romanian or European programs.

The rating of popularity among TV channels is topped by the Prime/Pervyi kanal – 57.8%, then comes Moldova 1 – 41.6%, Jurnal TV – 27.6%, RTR Moldova (RTR Russia) – 23.3%, PRO TV – 21.5%, Publica TV – 19.5%, NTV – 18.5%, Canal 2 – 12%, Canal 3 – 11.8%.
