SEVERAL MOLDOVAN SCHOOLS TO TURN TO FRENCH LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION

The Francophone University Agency [AUF, Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie], the Aliance Francaise of Moldova and the French Embassy in Chisinau are launching an experimental project on strengthening the francophone training in Moldovan educational institutions.

According to the AUF press service, the project will be implemented in the Chisinau Transport College, in the National Commercial College under the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova and the Chisinau vocational school #2.

“The goal of the project is to contribute and encourage professional training of graduates, develop their skills and cooperate with the Moldovan government for abiding by the Educational Code, which implies that each graduate of educational institution should master two foreign languages”, said the agency representative Olesea Simion.

According to her, within a year, students of faculties of economy, food technology, transport and tourism will be studying profile disciplines in French.

“Also, they will participate in thematic events for raising the level of French speaking skills, while Moldovan teachers will have the possibility to exchange experience with colleagues in France, going to advance training courses in this country. Teachers from France will also visit Moldova for conducting seminars and lectures. The project also implies the providing of educational and technical means for the participant institutions. The experiment is aimed at developing cooperation between Moldovan and French educational institutions, as well as to contribute to coming of graduates to the labor market”, she said.

College graduates who achieved best results will be invited to continue studies in French universities.

The AUF helps universities and colleges to implement projects, provides stipends to students and proposes budget places for studying in France.
