​MOST CHISINAU CITIZENS WANT MOLDOVA-ROMANIA UNIFICATION - POLL

55% of Chisinau citizens support the idea of unification of Moldova and Romania, while 45% are against. Such are the results of an opinion poll, conducted by experts of the European Socio-Political Center in the capital city on April 1 through 19.

Sociologist Andrei Dumbraveanu said at the Wednesday's press conference that most supporters of unification live in the Sectorul Botanica of the city - here the idea of unification was supported by 62% respondents; while the least supporters - in the Sectorul Riscani - 50%. Also, the rate of Unirea supporters is high in suburban communities - 61%.

"45.3% of the total number of the poll participants accounts for online voting, where 57% people spoke for, while 43% - against the unification", he stressed.

According to the expert, 79% of respondents preferred to answer in Romanian and only 21% - in Russian. 62% of those who answered in Romanian supported the unification, while 38% - spoke against it, while among Russian speakers, the results are diametrically opposite - 69% - against and 31% - for.

The opinion poll was carried out among 79.7 thousand people. The pollsters are saying that error should not exceed В±3%
