ACCORDING TO "SECRET POLL", CHISINAU MAYORSHIP WILL BE WON BY SILVIA RADU - EXPERT

According to a "secret poll" on the May 20 early mayoral election in Chisinau, the high post will go to de-jure independent candidate Silvia Radu, Vitaly Andrievschi, Director of the Institute of Effective Politics (IPE) of Moldova, wrote in the social networks without disclosing the source(s) of such information or details about the "poll".

The expert, who is reputed by some observers here as a political scientist close to the ruling Democratic Party, remarked that the final victory will be won by Radu in a second round of the elections i.e. on June 3.

"On May 20, Silvia Radu will poll about 40% ballots, Socialist Ion Ceban - some 23%, and Andrei Nastase [DA Platform] - about 17%. Radu has improved her indicators lately, but is still not able to poll 51%. What a shock and distress. It would be so good if she had won already in the first round, for this would mean the saving of 10 million lei", wrote the expert.

Vitaly Andrievschi believes that Silvia Radu is able to gain extra 15% in popularity.

"She needs to ensure a little extra of votes. This is a task for non-party residents of Chisinau for this month", remarked Andrievschi, who refused to say which political party had ordered the poll and when it had been made.

Infotag's dossier: On May 20, the Chisinau Mayor's post will be sought by 12 candidates. In the experts' opinion, the highest chances for success are with DA Platform leader Andrei Nastase, Ion Ceban of the Party of Socialists, and independent candidate Silvia Radu.
