NEW OUTBREAK OF AFRICAN SWINE FEVER BURST OUT IN CIADIR-LUNGA

A new outbreak of African swine fever broke out in the village of Besghioz, the Ciadir-Lunga Raion.

Gagauzia Deputy Bashkan Vadim Ceban reported at a press conference that on May 8 they received message of swine fever outbreak. After that, laboratory analysis of samples followed; they confirmed the presence of the disease in the locality.

Ceban stressed that local authorities have promptly took measures to prevent spread of the swine fever; all the cars coming and going out of the village undergo disinfection procedure. He pointed out that the disease is dangerous only for animals and does not pose a threat to human health.

As already reported by Infotag, at the end of April, the National Food Safety Agency confirmed the African swine fever outbreak in the village of Palanca, the Stefan-Voda Raion, which was quickly liquidated.
