NACC STARTS INVESTIGATION ON REPORTS ABOUT VIOLATIONS IN CHILDREN HOSPITALS

12 july, 2018

The National Anti-Corruption Center begins the investigation of statements, made by pediatrician Mihai Stratulat, who reported that doctors from Chisinau children’s hospitals are diagnosing more serious diseases for getting money. This was announced at the Wednesday’s Government sitting.

Prime Minister Pavel Filip said that the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection should have individually addressed to the prosecution service and the NACC.

“If the doctor made such statements, he must know the cases and the names of those who allowed themselves these violations. Personally, I do not believe that all the doctors are such, because I respect everyone who is working in this field”, he said.

According to him, it is necessary to clarify the situation and if the suspicions are confirmed, to punish the offenders.

“If misinformation is spread, this is already a totally different problem. Stop creating commissions each time when such situations occur. The violator has to answer for what he did”, the premier said.

He stressed that citizens, who find out about such cases, should not restrict themselves to posts in Facebook, but should immediately address to the Prosecutor General’s Office and the NACC, as well as inform responsible public agencies.

On Tuesday, pediatrician Mihai Stratulat wrote on his Facebook page that doctors from three children’s hospitals of Chisinau deliberately diagnose children with pneumonia, as this disease has a higher coefficient of providing financing for the medical institution. The administration of the hospital, mentioned in the post, came with an official denial of this information.
