NISPORENI CITIZENS GET SOCIAL HOUSING

13 july, 2018

A building with 93 social apartments was commissioned in Nisporeni on Thursday. Though the project was finished a year behind schedule, the ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, who personally handed over the keys from apartments to large families, young civil servants and the disabled.

He said that Government’s efforts are directed to improvement of citizens’ lives and wished to the new settlers to feel happy here in their own houses with their families.

“The support to the youth and the creation of necessary conditions in order that young people to remain to live and work in the country is one of Government’s priorities”, said the Premier, pointing on the recently launched programs “First House” and “First House 2”, which allow buying housing at profitable conditions.

He promised in the coming days one more surprise for extending the “First House” project for stimulating large families.

“By means of such measures we intend to stimulate birth rate in Moldova”, the Head of the Government explained.

As Infotag has already reported, social housing is built in Moldova within a corresponding project, financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which provided a credit of 20.4 million euros for a period of up to 20 years. It is supposed that by end 2018, when the second stage of the project will be completed, around 700 social apartments will be built in 8 country raions for the 2500 needy.

The building of a housing complex in Nisporeni started in 2015 on the basis of a share holding. Back then, it was supposed that private partner will provide the land plot for building 124 apartments, project documents and 400 thousand euros, while the raion council will allocate 850 thousand euros. The total cost of the project was estimated at 3.4 million euros. Apartments, adapted to the needs of people with special needs, should have been commissioned turnkey in June 2017.

In total, by the end of 2018 the authorities are planning to commission over 350 social apartments designed for 1400 beneficiaries in six country raions.
