SEVERAL FLIGHTS CANCELLED AFTER AIR MOLDOVA PLANE GOT STRUCK BY LIGHTNING

A plane, which departed from Chisinau to Saint Petersburg on Saturday with 113 passengers on board, was struck by lightning.

According to the Air Moldova airlines, to which the aircraft belongs, though nobody was hurt, the pilots decided to come back to the airport.

“The plane landed safely, all passengers got necessary medical assistance after the debarkation. Later, they departed to the destination by other flights, while the plane went through thorough inspection”, specialists said.

The delay led to the situation when hundreds of passengers, who should have departed from Chisinau to Milan, Verona and other destinations, failed to do this and had to wait for the next flights for around 24 hours.
