SOCIAL HOUSING TO BE BUILT IN THREE MORE RAIONS OF MOLDOVA

The Supervisory Board of the office for the 2nd stage implementation of the housing construction project for vulnerable segments of the population decided that social housing will be built in three more raions of Moldova – Cantemir, Cahul and Cimislia.

Office Manager Iunona Lungul stressed that the necessary design documentation for the construction of more than 90 apartments has been completed, checked and submitted for examination. Furthermore, the technical expertise of the existing real estate, proposed for reconstruction within the project, was also carried out.

“The cost of construction works and related services is calculated. We are ready to start tender procedures and then to sign a contract with the general contractor”, she said.

As already reported by Infotag, the social housing is being built in Moldova within the project financed by the European Development Bank, which has provided a loan of 20.4 million euros for 20 years. It is expected that by the end of 2018, when the second stage of the project will be completed, about 700 social apartments will be built in eight raions for 2,500 low-income families. Recently, a residential complex with 93 social apartments in the city of Nisporeni was commissioned. Until the end of 2018, the authorities plan put in commission more than 350 social apartments for 1,400 beneficiaries in six raions of the country.
