PRIME MINISTER DEMANDS RESIGNATION OF LEUSENI CUSTOMS AND BORDER CONTROL CHAIRMEN

02 august, 2018

Prime Minister Pavel Filip demanded resignation of Chairmen of the Leuseni customs and border control.

He said at the Government meeting on Wednesday that last week he had visited the Leuseni-Albita checkpoint on the Moldova-Romania border.

“I was very much upset with what I saw there. The customs control of travelers takes too long. The he border personnel have an improper attitude to citizens; people stand in queues. In addition, I did not like how the checkpoint looks like: the territory is unmanaged, the facilities have not been repaired for a long time”, stressed the Premier, demanding Ministers to dismiss the relevant heads.

“I do not need to be convinced that the control on the border with Romania lasts longer than on other checkpoints of the Moldovan border. I am interested in how our structures work. They should work better”, the Prime Minister said, adding that such sudden checks will continue in the future.

“I will pay such visits. If the situation remains unchanged, we will not look beyond resignation of checkpoint chiefs”, Filip threatened.
