DIASPORA CRITICIZE MOLDOVAN AUTHORITIES

06 august, 2018

The representatives of the Moldovan overseas diaspora and of the civil society organizations “Occupy Guguta” and “Adopta un Vot” organized an action of protest before the Government Building last Sunday.

The action involved over a dozen protesters, who lay out their parcels for the authorities before the entry to the Building – checkered bazaar bags with inscriptions: “There is only one option for you – either you are with honest people or with thieves”, “Prepare stripy bags and clothes for yourself”, “Plahotniuc and Shor will fall down easily”, “You are responsible for everything bad in our country”, and other.

A separate parcel was intended for Parliament Chairman Andrian Candu – a package of noodles, by which the protesters wanted to say that “the Speaker speaks too much, and mostly hangs noodles upon citizens’ ears”, which means he fools the public.

The protest action organizers wanted to demonstrate that Moldovans working abroad are expressing solidarity with compatriots who try to change the situation at home, where the authorities have usurped the right to elect and to be elected as well as the right of freedom of expression.
