AMBASSADOR OF JAPAN VISITS BALTI CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Moldova, H.E. Mr. Masanobu Yoshii, has visited the Balti Children’s Hospital Surgery Section modernized with the money provided by the Government of Japan -- US$122.5 thousand.

Thanks to the Japanese grant, the hospital administration has obtained a diathermocoagulator, three surgical lamps, three electric surgery tables for general surgery operations, a surgical orthopedic engine, and necessary medical tools.

That high guest was welcome by officials from the Balti City Hall and from the hospital administration.

Ambassador Masanobu Yoshii said that improvement of the quality of public health and education services in the Republic of Moldova is among the Japanese side’s priority objectives.

In 2017, the Surgery Section of the Pediatrics Department of the Balti Municipal Hospital carried out over 800 surgical operations for children. The new equipment should build up this figure and raise the quality of medical services for 54 thousand young citizens of Balti, the country’s second-largest city, and for children from 10 northern Moldovan raions [districts].
