GAGAUZIA PEOPLE TRUST MOLDOVAN PRESIDENT AND AUTONOMY BASHKAN MOST - OPINION POLL

President Igor Dodon and Gagauzia governor Irina Vlah enjoy the trust of the overwhelming majority of the autonomy people, getting 70% of votes within an opinion poll, organized by the CBS-AXA company together with the InstituteВ forВ Public PolicyВ (IPP). The results of the research were presented at the Tuesday's press conference in Comrat.

More than one-half of respondents say that things in Gagauzia develop in right direction (50.9%), while 28.7% - that things go wrong.

The local authorities are trusted by up to 60% of respondents, while the church - 23%. The country's political parties hold the last place in this list.

Asked to tell which politicians of the region they trust most, 27% said Irina Vlah, while 2.8% - ex-MP from the Democratic Party Nicolae Dudoglo. Meanwhile, 36% do not trust anyone, while 27% found difficulty in replying.

According to respondents, the main tasks that should be achieved in the autonomy are: creation of jobs (78%), raising of citizens' revenues (67%), regional economy improvement (53%).

Answering if pensions and salaries are enough to cover the household expenses, 82% and 72%, respectively, answered that the money is not enough.

Only 16% of autonomy residents are interested in politics.

The opinion poll was carried out among 528 residents of Gagauzia on September 19 through 28. The pollsters are saying that error should not exceed В±4%.
