TRAFFIC POLICE TEAMS AND SPECIAL MACHINERY PATROL COUNTRY ROADS

Due to the snowstorm on Sunday night, the traffic police teams, which are patrolling the country roads, are accompanied by special machinery which is cleansing the roads and spreading the anti-icing substances.

According to the national patrol inspectorate, the weathermen say that snow with rain and strong wind will continue for at least a day.

Law enforcers recommend motorists to leave cars at home for at least the next 24 hours.

All the vehicles should be equipped with snow tires. Motorists should check the condition of the brakes, the heating system, the antifreeze, the windscreen wipers. There should be a shovel, an ice scraper and a sack of sand in the vehicle. In case the motorist is going out of locality, it is necessary to fuel the car, to have a blanket, a flashlight, a thermos of tea and a charged batted for the mobile phone.

Inspectors also recommend to motorists to drive slowly on the road and in case of dangerous situation to call 112.
