NATIONAL REGISTER OF EMISSIONS AND POLLUTANTS LAUNCHED IN MOLDOVA

The Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment launches a National Register of Emissions and Transfer of Pollutants (RETP).

This is an automated system, which contains the data about sources and emissions of pollutants in air, water and soil.

All the enterprises in the field of energy, metal production and processing, mineral raw material processing, chemical industry, waste and wastewater management, paper and wood processing are obliged to present information about emissions to the Register. Also, such data should be provided by food industry and intensive livestock farming enterprises.

The register is aimed at contributing to people participation in decision-making in the field of environment, improve the keeping of pollution records and monitor trends in the field of environment pollution. Besides, the creation of such a system will allow Moldova fulfill the international liabilities in the field of ecology.

The Register website https://retp.gov.md/ has an interactive map with the source of pollution in Moldova. Currently, most of sources are in the Chisinau (45) and Balti (28) municipalities.
