30 CARS, PURCHASED WITH EU FUNDS, TRANSFERRED TO RAION POLICE INSPECTORATES

30 special vehicles have been transferred to the police inspectorates of most of the Moldovan raions. The car brands Dacia Dokker and Peugeot Partner are equipped with technical sets of investigators and criminalists of the latest generation. All of them have been purchased by the EU funds.

Head of MoI General Police Inspectorate, Alexandru Pinzari reported that this is a happy New Year gift.

"Operational groups will use these cars to arrive a scene on citizens' call. Thanks to the new equipment, they will be able to identify traces as quickly as possible; it will also contribute to uncover crimes", he said, expressing gratitude to the external development partners for the provided technical support.

The cost of the cars is 1.2 million euros. The cars have been provided within the project "Police Reform Strategy", designed for a period up to 2020. In order to support innovations in the police work, since 2016, the EU has promised to allocate 42.2 million euros. The money is provided in stages in the form of extra budgetary assistance as a result of the action plan and strategy implementation. Most of the money is being spent on the police stations modernization, on new modern equipment and vehicles.
