NVWO TO PUBLISH CATALOGUE OF MOLDOVAN WINES AWARDED WITH INTERNATIONAL GOLD IN 2018

The National Vine and Wine Office (NVWO) will publish a catalogue “Golden Wines of Moldova” which will include the names of wines, awarded with golden medals at international contests in 2018.

According to the NVWO, the reason for issuing such a catalogue is that last year Moldovan winemakers won a record number of awards – 190 golden medals at 28 international contests. A catalog of 108 names will be presented on April 18 at the spring Wine Vernissage in Chisinau.

NVWO Director Gheorghe Arpentin said that last year the Moldovan winemaking industry won almost 500 various kinds of medals and awards, which is a record.

“We designed this catalog as a confirmation of efforts, taken by key players of the branch for issuing a new generation of wine, the quality of which is increasingly valued on foreign markets, which is confirmed by annual growth of the number of awards. We are sure that the domestic wines will be demanded on foreign markets, while the brand Wine of Moldova will become a best ambassador of our country outside it”, he said.

The participation of winemaking contests and exhibitions is supported by the NVWO and strategic partners, among which the Moldova Competitiveness Project, financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Swedish Government.
