IPA TO ISSUE BLACK BOOK OF JOURNALIST INVESTIGATIONS

06 november, 2019

The Independent Press Association (IPA) prepared a collection of journalist investigations “Black Book of Government Waste in Moldova” for publishing. The presentation of the book took place within the Tuesday’s media forum in Chisinau.

The collection editor Victoria Zaharia said that the book includes nine best journalist investigations, a part of which was conducted and wrote specially for this project.

“Development projects, for the implementation of which large sums of money are allocated from the state budget or European funds, are never implemented in Moldova without flaws. Some people from administration engaged in implementation put their hands on considerable sums and invents schemes due to which they can put at least a small piece of this money in their pockets”, she said.

According to the editor, due to criminal schemes many projects are implemented badly or are abandoned at half-way, which nullifies the efficiency of investments.

Project Coordinator of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Moldova Sergiu Boghean said that one of the main goals of the Black Book is to raise people’s awareness about the importance of each taxpayer, as well as the importance of control from the side of the society for preventing abuses from the side of the Government.

Those who want to get the book may address to the API on 022 210602. Besides, soon it will be uploaded on the organization’s website.

The Black Book is a project of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, implemented by the API following the example of Bulgarian journalists, which issued the Black Book of Government Waste in Bulgaria in 2015.
