THERE WAS A CONFLICT OF INTEREST IN CONTEST COMMISSION – FORMER POTENTIAL CANDIDATE FOR PG

Participant in the contest for the post of Prosecutor General Eduard Bulat pointed at a conflict of interests in the contest commission. In this connection, he made an official request to the National Integrity Organ and the Ministry of Justice (MoJ).

The author of the request maintains that member of the contest commission Raisa Botezatu was in conflict of interest with one of contest participants. In this connection, Eduard Bulat addressed to Minister of Justice Olesea Stamate, but she did nothing to make the law be observed.

“Moreover, the incumbent Minister of Justice Fadei Nagacevschi got acquainted with conditions and circumstances of the contest. However, against the law he ignored the violation of the law on the conflict of interests and approved the contest results”, the request says.

The author also points at the adverse effect on contest participants, whose candidatures were not selected for presenting to the Superior Council of Prosecutors. According to him, after contest results were published, these candidates may face difficulties at employment, which infringes their right to work.

Eduard Bulat demands investigating the circumstances of conducting the contest in the field of conflict of interests and proposes to address to court in case of identifying violations.
