CHISINAU MAYOR SUSPENDS CITY SECTOR GOVERNORS AND GIVES THEM TRIAL PERIOD

Chisinau Mayor Ion Ceban ordered to prepare a disposition on suspending praetors [city sector governors] of all the Chisinau sectors (Center, Riscani, Botanica, Ciocana, Buiucani), as well as deputy praetors from posts. However, he gave them a three-month probation period, when they have the possibility to demonstrate their aptitude.

At the Monday’s sitting of municipal services, Ceban said he wants to see how praetors will be working in winter period, expressing confidence that if they make efforts, they can save their face.

He explained that praetors are concluding their mandates together with city mayor, because they have legal bases for such a decision. Ceban said that the sector governors will be completely rehabilitated, but for this they have to prove they are holding their posts not in vain.

Ceban also commented on the situation with wastewater treatment plants, saying that there are already several teams of experts from different countries who are engaged in resolving this problem, in particular from Germany, Turkey, Russia, who are preparing a detailed analysis.

“We must not stand on one place. Within 1-1.5 months, when an expert report was presented and analyzed and we will come with the final decision on this issue”, the mayor said.
