​PARLIAMENT ADOPTS MEDICAL AND SOCIAL INSURANCE BUDGETS

The parliament adopted in a final reading the laws on the funds of mandatory medical insurance and the state social insurance funds for 2020. The laws were adopted by overwhelming majority of votes from MPs of all parties, who were present at the sitting.

Revenues and expenditures of the medical insurance budget were established at 8.3 billion lei with the growth of revenue part by 14.4%, while the expenditure part - by 11.4%. Revenues from direct contributions to the medical budget account for 63.5%, while the rest are allocations from the state budget.

The law implies the preservation of the cost of medical insurance policy at the level of 2019 (4 thousand lei) with the possibility of applying discount for several categories of physical and legal persons. The amount of mandatory medical insurance will remain at the level of 9%, including 4.5% - the paid benefit.

The budget implies the raising of the medical workers labor remuneration (of all categories, including technical personnel) on average by 10%, additional financing for treating cancer patients and extending the list of compensated medications.

The revenues to the social fund are forecasted within 23.4 billion lei, which is 9.6% more than in 2019. The structure of fund revenues, its own resources will account for 63.6%, while transfers from budget - 36.4%.

The document implies the indexation of pensions twice a year (on April 1 and October 1), raising of survivors' pension by 25%, as well as other measures on improving social protection of citizens, among which the payment of 700 lei for winter holidays for beneficiaries from pensions, which do not exceed 2 thousand lei.
