MOLDOVA TO BUY 100 THOUSAND CORONAVIRUS TESTS FROM CHINA – PRESIDENT

President Igor Dodon said after the Monday’s briefing of the republic’s higher leadership that 100 thousand more tests for coronavirus diagnosing will be bought from China.

“Until now we used several kinds of tests. The Chinese tests proved to be most efficient. I do not want to say that others were bad, but these were the most efficient. We are holding negotiations with the People’s Republic of China to buy 100 thousand such tests”, Dodon said.

According to him, once the issue is agreed, Moldova will send a charter plane to China.

“As well, we will bring three tons of humanitarian assistance China allocated to Moldova. As for tests, we still have to work here. We are testing all people who have suspicion for coronavirus. In other countries, only those seriously ill with obvious symptoms are tested”, the president wrote.

As Infotag has already reported, since the beginning of March, around 100 tests have been conducted daily in Moldova. For this, 1 thousand tests received from the World Health Organization were used. Last week, Moldova received another lot of tests from the WHO, as well as 1500 tests from China in the form of humanitarian assistance and 10 thousand tests from Russia. Another lot of tests was bought. Currently, the certified laboratory in Chisinau is conducting 200 to 250 tests per day. Besides, a number of private clinics are conducting tests.
