SOROCA AND CARAHASANI IMPOSE QUARANTINE DUE TO CoV INCIDENCE GROWTH

01 april, 2020

Quarantine has been introduced, starting from Wednesday, in the northern Moldovan town of Soroca and in Carahasani village (Stefan Voda Raion) due to forbiddingly large number of CoV-infected residents there.

Such decision was taken on Tuesday evening by the National Commission for Emergency Situations after it had become known that during only last 24 hours the medical authorities revealed 22 new infection cases in Soroca and 9 – in the Carahasani village. So, Soroca has thus climbed up to the 2nd place on the national coronavirus incidence list with 40 infection cases, and the Stefan Voda Raion – on the 3rd place with 37.

Moldovan Prime Minister Ion Chicu, the Commission Chairman, remarked that a few days before, quarantine was imposed also in two villages in the Hincesti Raion. This measure gave a positive result, and the quarantine may be lifted there soon.

The Commission issued permission for carrying out two charter flights: to FlyOne Company – Chisinau-Paris-Chisinau on April 1, and to BlueAir Company – Dubai-Chisinau-Bucharest on April 2.

Starting from April 1, all Moldova citizens returning home from abroad and foreigners having Moldovan residence permits shall be paying for the compulsory health insurance policy for 2020, if they have no such document. This payment can be effected at crossing the border or by filling in a special declaration (under the traveler’s personal responsibility) that such payment shall be made within subsequent 72 hours.
