70 NEW INFECTION CASES BRING CoV INCIDENCE FIGURE TO 423 IN MOLDOVA

Last 24 hours, the Moldovan Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection registered 70 new cases of coronavirus infection, thus bringing the country’s total CoV incidence figure to 423.

Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu stated to the press following a meeting of the Crisis Unit that during the past day, 329 tests on coronavirus were carried out, and in 70 instances the analysis results were positive. Of the 70, only two were confirmed with Moldova citizens who had come from Great Britain, and all the rest caught the disease in Moldova. Also, the day brought one death that happened in the Transnistrian region.

Prime Minister Ion Chicu again urged citizens to strictly observe the restrictions imposed. He particularly emphasized the need to give up holding massive church services and other religious assemblies.

“The police are reporting that such gatherings continue to take place. Meanwhile, we are registering a growing number of infections with priests. There are instances of infected children from the families of the clergy”, said Ion Chicu.

The Premier pointed out with regret the growing coronavirus incidence.

“We must be ready for such increase of the disease. We presume that the infection peak will occur between April 10 and 15. Everybody must strictly observe restrictions of the state of emergency”, stated Ion Chicu.
