03 april, 2020

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration announced that 14 charter flights will be organized within the period of April 6 through 19 for returning home Moldovan compatriots, who got stuck abroad.

The schedule of flights, approved by the Commission for Emergency Situations, was published on the ministry’s website on Thursday.

According to its decision, the flights from Frankfurt (Germany), Lisbon (Portugal), Madrid (Spain), Brussels (Belgium), Warsaw (Poland), Dublin (Ireland) and London (Great Britain) will be organized on April 6 to 12.

On April 13 through 19, Moldovans may fly home from Amsterdam (the Netherlands), Venice (Italy), Paris (France), Berlin (Germany), Rome (Italy), London (the Great Britain) and Prague (the Czech Republic).

In accordance with the procedure, established by the Commission, tickets to these flights are designed for Moldovan citizens, who have preliminarily registered in the waiting lists of the diplomatic representation and consulate institutions, filling the questionnaires. Student, persons, people who undergo treatment, citizens who face difficulties will be included in the lists as a matter of priority.

Citizens, selected on the basis of the above-mentioned criteria, will be informed by phone how to buy tickets for the trip.

The ministry reminded about cases of fraud with charter flights and called on citizens to learn about these only from official sources, such as websites of the Civil Aviation Authority (www.caa.md), the Moldovan Government (www.gov.md), republic’s embassies or consulates in foreign countries.

A most recent case of fraud was registered in Prague, where around 200 Moldovan citizens should have flew home on Thursday on the basis of tickets they bought from some strangers. However, the flight had not taken place. The Moldovan Civil Aviation Authority said that this flight was not approved by the Commission for Emergency Situations and it is about fraudsters, who sold tickets on the flight. The closest flight in this direction is planned for April 3 by the Fly One company.
