Turkey will provide to Moldova humanitarian assistance for combating the coronavirus pandemic, said President Igor Dodon after the Monday’s telephone talk with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

In the same context, we discussed the possibility of sending humanitarian assistance to Moldova with medical equipment for supporting our country’s authorities in combating the Covid-19 pandemic. It is about a shipment of over 100 thousand masks and over 50 thousand bottles of disinfectants, as well as gloves, protective costumes and special footwear”, Dodon wrote on his Facebook page.

According to him, they also discussed the possibility of opening transit for Moldovan cargo transporters through the territory of Turkey.

“I expressed gratitude to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the support, provided to the Republic of Moldova in the time of urgent need and stressed that the Turkish Republic is a reliable partner for our country. We agreed in the opinion that together we can cope with this challenge the entire world is facing”, Dodon wrote.
