TWO MORE PATIENTS DIE OF CORONAVIRUS IN MOLDOVA

On Wednesday morning, Moldovan Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbraveanu reported the death of two more coronavirus patients. The total mortality rate has thus reached 24 people in the republic.

Speaking at her traditional daily press briefing held this morning following a meeting of the National Emergency Public Health Commission, the Minister said that one of the victims was a 71-year-old resident of Cahul town, who was delivered to the Chisinau Emergency Medicine Hospital on April 2. The other one was a 62-year-old man from Glodeni, hospitalized on April 6.

To date, Moldovan laboratories have carried out 5108 analyses, of which 1056 turned out to be positive namely 114 revealed with Moldova citizens who had returned from abroad and 942 were of citizens with locally acquired infection. A total of 24 persons have died, and 43 – fully recovered.

According to the Minister, a majority of the CoV patients are in a satisfactory condition, 114 – in a grave condition and 328 in a medium-gravity shape. Seven persons have been linked to artificial lung ventilation (ALV) machines.
