TRADERS OF CHISINAU MARKET AND HORECA WORKERS PROTEST BEFORE GOVERNMENT

Several dozen market traders and representatives of hotel and restaurant business (HoReCa) protested before the Government Building on Wednesday, demanding permission to work.

The protest was coordinated by entrepreneur Victor Selin and civil activist Veaceslav Valco (a prominent fixture on Plahotniuc’s TV channels and participant of DPM rallies until June 2019).

Valico believes that the Government violates the article Nr.43 of the Constitution, which guarantees the “right to work”.

One of the protest participant said that the traders are required to pay rent up to 3 thousand lei per month.

“We didn’t work, so why should we pay then? We already support the Government with the taxes we pay”, she said.

The health emergency commission decided that restaurants and cafes will start operating on June 15, while open markets and shopping malls will resume work on June 1.
