RUSSIAN EMBASSY STAFF EVACUATED DUE TO BOMB WARNING
On Monday morning, the Chisinau's Sectorul Buiucani Police Inspectorate received an anonymous e-mail warning about a bomb planted in the Russian Embassy in Chisinau.
Inspectorate Chief Oleg Berliba said that a team of military engineers was immediately sent to the Embassy, whose diplomats and other employees were evacuated from the building. Traffic near the embassy was blockaded, thus paralyzing the capital city's main street.
Two hours later, the engineers reported that there was no bomb or other explosive device in the large building. Now the police are working to establish the name of the false alarm author within the framework of a criminal case launched. The offender will be necessarily founded and will bear responsibility, the police official assured.
