FROM JULY 1, WOMEN IN MOLDOVA WILL BE GOING ON PENSION UPON REACHING 59 YEARS OF AGE

29 june, 2020

Starting from this July 1, the pension age for women in Moldova will go up 6 months – up to 59 years, as per the new rules of pension accrual, according to which women are supposed to have made contributions to the state pension system for minimum 32 years.

The Pension Fund has reminded that the pension age for women will be going up by 6 months every calendar year – until in 2028 it reaches 63 years and seniority – 34 years.

For men, the pension age does not change. It reached 63 years yet in 2019, with a seniority of 34 years.

An earlier retirement is permitted to persons who have worked in hazardous industries for minimum 10 years.

Both for men and women, the old-age pension is determined if they had paid social contributions for minimum 15 years.
