IN MOLDOVA, 627 CASES OF COVID-19 INFECTION ARE DETECTED OVER PAST DAY

Over the past day, 627 cases of COVID-19 infection have been identified in Moldova. Thus, the total number of infected has reached 44 361 people, of which 10 470 patients are in the "active stage" of disease.

As the data from the Ministry of Health show, 2868 tests were conducted on Wednesday.

According to the ministry, 564 patients are in serious condition. Of these, 38 are connected to an artificial respiration apparatuses. Over the past day, 15 people have died.

State Secretary of the Ministry Constantin Rimis said at a briefing on Wednesday that the distribution rate of COVID-19 remains very high.

“Over the past 14 days, it averaged in 473 cases per day. Moldova is among the leaders in Europe in terms of the number of infections per population - 12,770 cases per 1 million of the population,” Rimis stated.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 32,732 people have been cured, 1159 people have died.
