The past week brought also a daily anti-record – 1607 positive test results revealed on November 18. For the first time ever, last week’s 6-of-7 days were bringing more than one thousand new COVID-19 cases daily.

Last week was marked also with the highest-ever number of recoveries – 8744. And since the pandemic beginning, a total of 79,556 people have overcome the disease.

Unfortunately, the death rate was also the highest one in the past week – 130 people, so the total number of deaths has reached 2149. By the mortality rate, Moldova is standing on one of the highest positions in Europe – 533 cases per a million of population.

Presently, 16,236 Moldovans are ill with COVID-19, of whom 257 patients are in a very serious condition, and 45 of them have been linked to artificial lung ventilation machines. The number of active disease cases slightly lowered in the past week thanks to a large number of recovered patients and due to the above-indicated death rate.
