PARLIAMENT FORMS AD HOC COMMISSION FOR DRAFTING STRATEGY OF HEALTH SECTOR DEVELOPMENT IN 2020-2030

The Moldovan Parliament has approved the forming of an ad hoc commission for working out a Strategy of health sector development in 2020-2030. This initiative came from MP Ruxanda Glavan of the Pro-Moldova group, a former Minister of Health, who has been appointed as commission chairperson.

The body’s chief priority will be the drafting of a Code of Healthcare. The commission has included also MPs Alla Darovannaia (Party of Socialists, PSRM), Ghenadie Buza (Democratic Party, DPM), Efrosinia Gretu (Pro-Moldova group), Igor Himici (Sor Party), Dan Perciun (Party of Action and Solidarity, PAS) and Liviu Vovc (Platforma DA). This team is supposed to present ready drafts of the two documents within 90 days.

The Parliament also approved in a first reading a draft law aimed to improve the work of the National Emergency Public Health Commission and its capacity to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. According to this bill prepared by the Platforma DA, the Emergency Commission will consist of Government members and of the representatives of profiled agencies subordinate to the Government (50%). And the other 50% will be healthcare professionals.
