SOCIALIST MP APPLIES TO PROSECUTION SERVICE AND NIO CONCERNING PROPERTY ACQUIRED BY PRESIDENTIAL ADMINISTRATION'S SECRETARY GENERAL

15 january, 2021

MP Petru Burduja of the Party of Socialists today applied to the Prosecutor General's Office and the National Integrity Organ concerning the property owned by Presidential Administration Secretary General Andrei Spinu.

Burduja wrote in social networks afterwards: "Recently, the public was surprised to read the annual statement of property and income submitted by Mr. Spinu, in particular the fact that he indicated in the document his real estate, having underrated its actual cost by about 5-fold. Namely, the house and the land plot, which Andrei Spinu had bought for 393.5 thousand euros [nearly 8 million lei], were stated as ones costing less than 2 million lei".

According to the deputy, Andrei Spinu stated himself not long ago that he had bought the house for that very sum of 393.5 thousand euros, and that it had been indicated in the sale contract. So, the lawmaker decided to appeal to the Prosecution Service and the NIO to check the legitimacy of that bargain.
