THREE-DAY VACCINATION MARATHON OPPORTUNITY USED BY OVER 5500 CITIZENS OF MOLDOVA

31 may, 2021

Over the 3 days of the ‘coronavirus vaccination marathon’, organized by the Moldovan Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection and the Chisinau City Hall, more than 5500 citizens came to the Palatul Republicii [Palace of the Republic] and got vaccinated.

The Marathon, held last Friday to Sunday, offered visitors 4 types of vaccines – AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Sinopharm and CoronaVac. On Friday, there were impressive queues of people wishing to receive the Pfizer vaccine, whose amounts appeared to be smaller than the number of citizens wishing it. But on Saturday and Sunday, there were no queues for this vaccine, because the organizers had run out of the available Pfizer stock yet on Friday night.

During the Marathon, 2700 people got vaccinated with Pfizer, 2400 – with AstraZeneca, 240 – with Sinopharm, and 34 – with CoronaVac.

For the Marathon activities, the spacious hall of the Palatul Republicii was divided into 26 well-equipped sections, where a total of over 200 medics worked. At the end of the 3rd day, the medics came out for a flashmob in solidarity to combat the pandemic.

In Moldova, the massive anti-coronavirus immunization campaign began on March 2, and by the present moment a total of nearly 410 thousand citizens were vaccinated.
