11 june, 2021

The authorities of Moldova and Ukraine have agreed, through an exchange of notes, on the national certificates of immunization against COVID-19 issued by the competent authorities of the parties. As Infotag reports, this was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI).

According to ministry’s press service, Moldovan citizens can enter Ukraine, including for transit purposes, by presenting one of the following documents: a national certificate confirming the full administration of vaccines included in the list of the World Health Organization, issued in English or containing a translation; negative test result for COVID-19 (by PCR method), carried out no later than 72 hours before crossing the state border; negative result of a rapid test for the determination of the SARS-CoV-2 antigen, carried out no later than 72 hours before crossing the state border.

These documents are not required for children under 12 years of age.

According to the strict requirements of the Ukrainian side, it is still necessary to have a health insurance policy to cover the costs of possible treatment for COVID-19.

Ukraine is the second country with which Moldova has bilaterally agreed through an exchange of notes on the mutual recognition of national vaccination certificates. Similar proposals were sent through diplomatic channels to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Turkey, Czech Republic, Greece, Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
