NEW RESTRICTIONS COMBATING COVID-19 COME INTO FORCE IN MOLDOVA FROM OCTOBER 1

01 octomber, 2021

On October 1, new restrictions came into force in Moldova aimed at combating the spread of COVID-19 infection.

They were approved on September 22 by the National Public Health Commission in connection with the worsening epidemiological situation.

According to the adopted document, all settlements of the republic will be divided by the level of epidemiological danger into "green", "yellow", "orange" and "red" zones. The assignment of a specific code will be carried out weekly by local health commissions, depending on the number of cases of coronavirus infection in the last seven days, per 100 thousand population.

In the context of the "red code", which currently includes Chisinau, Balti and other cities and large settlements, public and private institutions will organize a work mode with the introduction of remote work (at home), or will choose a differentiated work program. Also, the access of visitors to medical and sanitary facilities and accommodation facilities is prohibited.

In restaurants, cafes, bars, hotels and other catering establishments, only open spaces can be used at full capacity, while up to 50 percent of the available seats can be used in closed ones. In addition, all customers will be required to present a COVID-19 certificate or PCR test negative within the last 72 hours upon entry.

Weddings, christenings, festive tables and other private events can be organized with the participation of no more than 100 people in the internal premises or, accordingly, 150 people in the open space, providing a service area of at least 2 square meters for each person. In addition, guests will be required to present a COVID-19 certificate.

Entrance to temples is also limited, and the distance between people must be at least 4 square meters per person. Before that, it will be necessary to measure the body temperature, as well as to disinfect the hands. Any physical contact of parishioners with religious objects, including kissing icons, is strictly prohibited. Pilgrimage tours to monasteries are also prohibited.
